We are heading to Paris! Are you there too?

The world’s eyes are on Paris for the next two weeks for the UN Conference on Climate Change. That’s why are in Le Bourget, too.

Read our Position Paper stating our stand here.

Gaia Education is one of the founder members of ECOLISE - a broad coalition of European organisations supporting community-led action for sustainability and climate change. We've got a stall in the Climate Generations area at the official COP21 exhibition where we will be drawing on experience from across the Ecovillage, Permaculture and Transition movements and beyond to highlight the power and potential of communities of learning. If you're visiting the exhibition, make sure you come and say hello!

Our two main presentations will be on Tuesday and Thursday; come hear us at 3.15 in the Climate Generations area, Halle 2, where we will be leading the “Interfaith Dialogue on Climate Change, Sustainability and Resilience”.

On Thursday our CIO May East has been invited by UNESCO to give a talk on Community-led Education Accelerating Low-Carbon Solutions at Local Level. Find her from the UNESCO stand at the Climate Generations area at 1.45.

We are also co-piloting at the Place to B, where we will be attending several events (see their programme here) and also fun stuff!

On Saturday and Sunday we, together with several other international NGOs will be present at the Global Village of Alternatives in Montreuil, an Eastern Parisian suburb. It will be a large folk festival, as well as a “village of alternatives”, showcasing alternative lifestyles contributing to solve the climate, energy and ecological crisis. The village will host alternatives promoted by both individuals, communities, and local policy makers. Find out more and how to get there here.

Can’t make it? Fear not – we’ll be covering the event from our perspective in our Twitter feed and Facebook page.

Want to get in touch? Write us a line with a subject “COP21” and we’ll get back to you!
