Just like the Geese in Gaia we have been spreading our wings and reaching new heights across many different areas, as you will see in our interactive newsletter.

The heart of what we contribute to a changing world is leading edge education in Sustainability and Design. Our curricula spans both certified face-to-face programmes in some 41 locations around the world with more than 181 learning establishments, and e-learning. Many of our face-to-face programmes take place in communities that are a part of Global Ecovillage Network, but also in ashrams, Buddhist learning centres, urban slum settings, universities and R&D centres to name a few. Regardless of where a student choose to undertake their one month EDE programme our quality assurance ensures that all our certified partners uphold the same high standards in delivering this unique immersionary experience.

For those who are looking for the next level and wish to deepen their knowledge and expertise, our e-learning, Sky Programme is where that natural continuation lies. It is probably the most comprehensive programme of its kind and had just gone from good to great! Our 2015 programme has been significantly overhauled from previous editions and upgraded to a brand new 2.0 version with a duration of 10 months. All this under the learned stewardship of Daniel Wahl PhD, and many others. Originally trained as a biologist and zoologist (University of Edinburgh), in 2002 he completed his MSc in Holistic Science at Schumacher College with distinction, and in 2006 received his PhD in Natural Design (University of Dundee) for a thesis entitled “Design for Human and Planetary Health – A Holistic/Integral Approach to Complexity and Sustainability”. The programme continues to be fully mouldable giving students up to 2 years to complete the entire cycle. For those who simply wish to build up their knowledge in a specific area, there’s nothing simpler than taking any one module or more, for an 8 week programme.

While our in house capabilities have become stronger at all levels our DNA is to serve our students beyond what we can provide as a single organisation. In honouring this we continue to develop key strategic partnership with other educational establishments that we are aligned with. The Open University of Catalonia (UOC) in Spain has recently started a Masters of Gaia Education in Design of Integrated Systems for Sustainability. Similarly our partnership with Goddard College, in the US, enables students who have completed our Sky Programme to use academic credits to enter BA and MSc programmes.

If that was not enough, we are thrilled to announce that we have recently partnered with Ubiquity University. They are at the cutting edge of e-learning and what makes them really different is their approach to whole brain and whole system learning through a social innovation platform. Have a look for yourself to get a sense of what 21st century education looks like! We anticipate that before the summer 2016 we will be offering a new one month long programme on their e-learning platform. Rest assured that once it’s up and running you be among the first to know.

In closing, I wish to thank those of you have been supportive in assisting us these last months in getting to know more about what matters to you and how we can serve you better. It takes time but we have a great team in place who really is committed and heart felt in seeing you grow and fly higher, whatever it is you chose to do or who it is you wish to be.

Enjoy this time of celebration.
