Do you consider yourself as Youth? Re-phrasing - is your physical age under or about 30?
We invite you to come spend five transformational weeks in lush Auroville, India, one of the world’s largest intentional communities. Auroville is today an endorsed ongoing experiment in human unity and transformation of consciousness, also concerned with - and practically researching into - sustainable living and the future cultural, environmental, social and spiritual needs of humankind.
EDE Auroville starts on the 4th of December and carries on throughout the festive period into the 8th of January 2017.
For 5 weeks Youth from Auroville, its bioregion, India and the world will be:
- immersed in transformational processes and experiential learning with Auroville as the campus
- encouraged to design locally relevant, paradigm shifting projects
- empowered through capacity building as future trainers and curriculum designers
The course will be held in English, with possible translation in Tamil.
Pitchandikulam, who acts as the host organisation for the EDE, is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the indigenous Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest. It was established in 1973 as one of the pioneering Auroville green belt communities engaged in the initial reforestation work that was necessary on the bare eroded township site. Pitchandikulam hosts a bio-resource center and manages outreach programs for sustainable enterprises, environmental education and afforestation in Auroville’s bioregion.
