| Findhorn EDE Piloting Transition Town Training |

The fourth Findhorn EDE ran to a background of bright autumnal hues, slanting sunlight, grey skies and torrential rain! There were 13 men and 20 women participants, from 22 countries including Canada, Myanmar, France, Germany, Holland, South Africa, Japan, Australia, Turkey, Belgium, USA, UK, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. 20 of the participants completed all four weeks and gained certification. The other 13 joined for one or more of the weeks in their areas of interest. It was a very enriching month with an intellectually mature group of participants working in design groups on projects as varied as a youth eco-learning centre on a Scottish Island, a project working to relocate displaced people in Columbia, a Brazilian ecovillage project, meditation centre & reforestation project, a Canadian co-housing group and a castle community in Belgium. Unique to this EDE was the very successful pilot incorporation of the Transition Town training in the worldview week. Offered on the last two days of the programme participants left the EDE extremely motivated to strengthen the resilience of their communities and to facilitate power down and energy descent pathways. ![]() |
