Gaia Education COVID-19 Update

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gaia Education has taken precautions to protect our staff as well as participants and stakeholders. Due to the situation, almost all face-to-face courses have been cancelled, however, we are slowly starting to introduce new and innovative ways of conducting Ecovillage Design Education programmes (EDEs) that follow the social distancing rules of the country and where part of the training takes place online. We encourage ecovillages to contact us so we can support them on how to develop safe EDEs.

All of Gaia Education’s online courses are running as per usual and we encourage you to take a look at our Design for Sustainability programme as well as other upcoming online programmes. Now, more than ever healing communities and creating more regenerative cultures is at the forefront of our mission.

We are also offering a short introductory course for free, entitled Sustainability Design Panorama. This online course, available in English, Spanish and Portuguese, will give you the basic knowledge that is needed to redesign our humanity into a regenerative one. The course addresses the most pressing issues of our times and gives participants the tools to be a part of a more hopeful, diverse future.

Currently, Scotland is divided into different local protection levels to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Edinburgh, where the Gaia Education headquarters are located is currently under the strictest Tier 3 measures which may affect our daily operations in the form of longer shipping times for all products. So we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

We believe that communities can come out of this stronger and determined to transform their lifestyles into more sustainable ones.
