Tulum Experience
From March 24th to April 3rd we will hold two of Gaia Education's main face-to-face training programs in Tulum, Mexico. The mini-EDE (Ecovillage Design Education) and ToT (Training of Trainers) are globally recognized programs that offer training for individuals, groups and communities.
This is a unique opportunity to complete both training courses at once in a truly magical and stunning location!

Taisa Mattos
As a Gaia Education Face-to Face Programmes Coordinator, Taisa has coordinated and taught Ecovillage Design Education Programmes since 2009, having contributed to 30 certified EDEs all over in Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique, Argentina and online.
Board Member of the International Communal Studies Association (ICSA). Education & Research Coordinator at the Global Ecovillage Network (2019 - 2023), she currently serves GEN as a consultant, trainer and project manager. Project Manager of the Erasmus+ partnership project Regenerative Communities for All (ReGEN4ALL) on Ecovillage research (GEN Europe/GEN Research).
Taisa is Brazilian and works globally as a trainer and consultant in the fields of sustainability, regenerative education and community life. Author of the book "Ecovillages: building a regenerative culture", she holds a master's degree in Psychosociology of Communities and Social Ecology (EICOS/UFRJ). Active member of CASA Brasil, co-founder of Terra Una Ecovillage (MG, Brazil), she also lived, for several years, in small urban communities in Rio.
Keala Young
Whole systems regenerative designer with a background in the healing arts and group facilitation.
Keala began their ecovillage journey with an EDE at Findhorn in 2005 and have since been involved with many on the ground projects and permaculture and ecovillage education, co-founding an ecovillage project and serving on the board of the Global Ecovillage Network and a representative to GEN’s Network Steward Circle from North America.
As a co-director of VillageLab’s Regen Solutions initiative Keala has helped to develop the Participatory Commons framework and has been called to focus on the Social solutions as essential to the Technical solutions and is currently working to weave this Prosocial context as a contributor to the Collaborative Tech Alliance.
With a focus on co-creating trauma-informed and living-systems-informed culture, Keala brings a heart-centered and life-affirming approach to collective and collaborative learning with practical capacity building toward bioregional and planetary regeneration.

Patty Rangel
Patty Rangel is a Global Ecovillage Network North America (GENNA) representative to the REGENERA ACCION MAYA movement certifying Sanctuaries of Peace under the Rights of Mother Earth.
In 2022 she was a GEN representative to the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) in Nairobi, Kenya. She is a graduate of the United Nations Summer Intensive Program (UN Headquarters in New York City) and SingularityU at NASA program in Future Studies and Forecasting.
In 2007 she was awarded Honorary Earth Guardianship by the Burning Man organization and was the recipient of the "Green Camp Award" for Entheon Village. Patty is passionate about ARTivism and empowering Indigenous Nations.
