'From The Ground Up' is a 7-day immersive mini-EDE held at Entelechy, an intentional ecovillage community on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada. Set on 13.5 acres of second-growth forest with active gardens, the course covers all four dimensions of the Ecovillage Design Education - Social, Ecological, Economic, and Worldview - with a strong emphasis on the practical realities of founding and sustaining an ecovillage.

Participants live on-site in camping and wall tent accommodation, share communal vegetarian meals sourced from the farm and local Salt Spring producers, and learn through a blend of theory, hands-on activities, and real-world case studies drawn from the host community's own journey. The program is led by an EDE-certified facilitator and the ecovillage's founder, supported by guest instructors with expertise across all four dimensions.

The week culminates in a group design project integrating learning from all dimensions, with presentations and peer feedback. The course is designed for anyone interested in sustainable community living - whether planning their own ecovillage, seeking to bring regenerative practices into existing communities, or exploring a more connected way of life.
