Solstice Reflections: A Moment of Global Connection

As this year draws to a close, we look back on another orbit around the sun ☀️—a year of learning, collaboration, and deepening commitment to regenerative futures.
Despite the challenges and hardship unfolding around the globe, we’ve seen countless examples of resilience, creativity, and hope—reminding us that people everywhere are ready to co-create systems that care for both people and planet 🌍
A huge thank you to our partners all over the world who have created online or in-person courses and projects with us, all helping our Gaian community to take further steps towards truly regenerative cultures.
This year has been especially meaningful as we celebrate Gaia Education’s 20th anniversary! Two decades of transformative learning, global partnerships, and courageous individuals stepping into leadership for systems change.
Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate either at the European Ecovillage Gathering (Happy 30th to GEN!) in Hungary or with our Online Festival - Coming Home to Place.
As a final marker of this milestone, we’re offering 20% OFF all courses (Valid until end of December!) with the code:
GAIA20YEARSANNIVERSARY
It’s our way of saying thank you and inviting even more people into the work of building regenerative cultures.
Check out what we have coming up below to see if something is calling your attention👇
Online courses
Ecological dimension - starts 12th January 2026
This course gives you the skills and knowledge to create positive ecological change. Gain hands-on experience in permaculture, renewable energy, and sustainable design, while developing a deep understanding of ecological systems.
Learn how to apply these principles to real-world challenges, making a lasting impact in your community, workplace, and beyond.
Cultivating Regenerative Livelihoods- starts 23rd January 2026
When we think about our livelihood as our service to the wellbeing of ourselves, each other, and the planet, it opens us to dream and explore new possibilities. Pairing these with regenerative and cooperative economic theories and business models empowers us to actualise them and contribute more substantially to the more equitable, sustainable, and just world we envision.
Energy Systems - starts 23rd February 2026
Learn the universal laws. Develop thriving systems.
Energy is the foundation of all life, from ecological systems to human social and economic systems.
Energy Systems — Science and Practice for Just and Sustainable Communities online course is designed to help you understand how energy flows through living systems, including people, communities, local economies, and natural ecosystems, and how those flows shape resilience, equity, and long-term wellbeing.
Online EDE (Ecovillage Design Education programme) - starts 7th March 2026
Bioregioning in practice 2.0 - starts 23rd March 2026

The number of bioregional centres around the world is growing, all of which are activating their bioregions in ways unique to them and to their place. In response, the 2026 edition of Bioregioning in Practice offers a series of themed learning sessions that take practitioners into a deepening of their understanding of how to both start and lead this work.

Projects
Regenerating Together
As the solstice marks a turning point in the cycle of light and renewal, our projects continue weaving new connections between youth, educators, and communities across the planet, nurturing the next generation of regenerative leaders.
New Regeneration is now forming the first cohort of 150 mentors who will accompany young people in their regenerative education journeys from March to September 2026. Together, we’re building a pathway that helps youth explore their purpose, develop their skills, and design the projects our world needs.

From another strand of the web, IN.PACT has been growing its Community of Practice and welcoming inspiring initiatives to our interactive map. Visit it here: inpact-community.eu/mapping
Our team is also co-creating the Participatory Community Facilitator Course, launching in March 2026 — an experiential online programme to strengthen facilitation, collaboration, and community-building skills. Stay tuned in January to subscribe and join the first edition.

Meanwhile, the ECOsystem project has been blossoming across Europe, connecting young people with green initiatives and ecovillages that model ecological living and social resilience. Over the past year, partners have created bridges between learning, livelihood, and local regeneration, inspiring many new seeds to take root.

And with great excitement, we celebrate the beginning of YCAN – Youth Climate Action Network, a brand-new partnership linking youth organisations from Uganda, Ethiopia, France, and Spain. Our first meeting will take place in Nairobi this February, marking the start of a shared journey to empower young climate leaders in Africa and Europe.
Finally, we honour all the Training Courses held this year across France, Denmark, Spain, and Portugal, and those to come in 2026. Thank you to every facilitator, host community, and participant bringing regenerative education to life around the world.
